From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs Basil E Frankweiler: a photo blog
Having just re-read the Newbury Award winning young adult novel, the scenes from the book were fresh in my head. So, here, for fun, is a photo blog of Claudia and Jamie Kincaid's escapade to the Met:
The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City at closing time.
Stand on a toilet in the bathroom with the door slightly open at closing time.
This isn't the original fountain that Jamie and Claudia took their baths in.
That one has since been torn down, but this would suffice.
You could also get your automat and laundry money in the bottom.
A bed with a canopy to store the instrument cases under and sleep in at night.
The Egyptian tomb that changes temperature when you enter it.
Mix yourself up with a group of field tripping kids in here.
Beautiful statues...are any by Michelangelo?
